FIELD NOTES / FIT & ORDER

Fit, compare and send an order request

The letter on a size tab is only a starting point. This guide explains how to compare actual garment measurements, account for fabric weight and layering, review the basket and send an order request with useful notes.

Begin with a garment, not a guess

Lay a T-shirt or hoodie that already fits you on a flat surface without stretching it. Measure the chest from underarm to underarm and double that figure, then record body length from the high shoulder point to the hem. For hoodies, also compare the sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff and note whether your reference has a set-in or dropped shoulder.

Compare those figures with the approximate measurements listed on the product page. A wider chest can feel compact when the body is short, while a regular chest can read long when the hem is extended. Fabric weight changes the way the outline holds, but it does not replace the need to check dimensions.

If you intend to layer, measure the outer garment over the T-shirt or mid-layer you expect to wear. Leave comfortable movement at the chest and upper arm, then confirm that neckline, hood and body lengths do not crowd one another.

  • Measure chest, body length and relevant sleeve length flat
  • Note set-in or dropped shoulder construction
  • Compare the intended underlayer inside a hoodie
  • Use product measurements before relying on the size label

From cut index to confirmed request

The checkout is an order-request handoff, giving you a final point to verify garment, size, quantity and contact details before payment is arranged.

01

Choose the silhouette

Read the T-shirt or hoodie collection as a progression of width, length, shoulder position and fabric weight rather than a list of interchangeable basics.

02

Select and compare a size

Use the garment dimensions on the product page against a comparable item, accounting for any T-shirt or light mid-layer beneath a hoodie.

03

Review the colour relationship

Check whether the selected layers should blend, contrast or leave one brighter field visible at the neck, hem or open zip.

04

Inspect the basket

Confirm every size and quantity, remove unintended duplicates and add a concise fit or order note where another measurement needs context.

05

Send the request

Submit accurate customer and UK delivery details so NO IDEA LIMITED can review the request and provide the next confirmation and payment information.

Four measurements that change the reading

Two garments with the same size label can create different outlines because width, length and construction distribute ease differently.

Garment chest

This is the full circumference derived from a flat underarm measurement. Compare garment to garment, not garment to body, when using the listed figures.

Body length

Measure from the high shoulder point so standard, cropped and longline hems can be judged against trousers and adjacent layers.

Shoulder line

A dropped seam broadens the upper frame and changes sleeve start; a set-in seam creates a more conventional reference point.

Rib depth

Deep hems and cuffs gather more cloth and hold the edge firmly, while narrower rib allows a lighter and less compressed finish.

Concise fit and ordering FAQ

These answers cover the points most likely to affect a size decision or order-request handoff.

No. Square, Heavy Frame, Box Volume and Deep Hood already include additional ease in their patterns. Compare the actual chest and length figures before changing from your usual size.

Measure a hoodie you like over the T-shirt or light layer you plan to wear, then compare chest, body and sleeve dimensions with the relevant product page.

Fabric weight indicates the amount and structure of cloth, but cut, interior finish and the layers worn with it also affect comfort. Use weight as one comparison point rather than a performance promise.

Yes. Review sizes and quantities in the basket, adjust or remove items and only continue when the request reflects the garments you want checked.

No. Checkout sends an order request. Availability, order details and payment instructions are confirmed after the request is reviewed.

Use the order notes during checkout or the contact page. Include the product, proposed size and a comparable flat garment measurement so the question has useful context.
